Writing an introduction can be one of the trickiest and most frustrating parts of writing an academic essay! Many of us get hung up on perfecting the introductory paragraph before we feel comfortable moving on to the main body.
If this sounds like you, a great tip is to draft an introduction first, to get your writing juices flowing. Move on to your body section, then come back and modify your introduction as your paper takes shape. Don't be afraid to edit the introduction as you work!
Another popular method is to write introductions (and conclusions) last. Focus on crafting a strong thesis and building your supporting arguments first. When you've clarified these things, you'll have a much easier time banging out a strong introduction paragraph.
